A ‘79 Datsun 280z made to look like a Ferrari. I...but...the...Ugh, Datsuns aren't a common sight in Michigan, so making it into a kit boggles my mind. -_-

Those pictures of it are a sin.

My favorite one was the vertical one.

But when you finish it, it will bring 25 to 30 gs.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was a kit car right? I’d valet a kit ferrari.

Make it a little more unique and I quite like it.

Is that $ or g-force? Either way, I like where this convo is going...

Chopping up a Datsun to create a (poorly made) Ferrari kit car should be a sin. I generally think that poorly made kit cars are a sin in general, the exception being if the kit car is well made and (in most cases) is better than the original. (Shelby Cobra kit cars and the like.)

What Ferrari is that supposed to look like?

Good question, no idea. :)

It’s not the worst kit I’ve ever seen. It just doesn’t look like a Ferrari except in the vaguest sense.

Yes. This is a sin.
My cardinal rule in any modifications is ‘don’t disrespect the marque’.
It’s just personal preference, but it’s a strong one.
This disrespects Datsun by trying to make it look like something it’s not, rather than trying to make it the best Datsun it could be.

I think the 280z series is beautiful as is, so it's a double shame.
